Examples of Brochures to Test Benefits
Hello – First time poster here. Tweeted at Bill asking the following question and he suggested I posted it here.I am wondering if there are examples of the brochure mentioned in the book recommended to use to test benefits and avoid building prototypes or MVPs. I am trying to vet the benefits of a potential product w prospective users and would like to understand the brochure idea better. Thanks, Lucas E. Wall
Lucas, The quick answer is that a “brochure” could be a physical piece of paper but also a landing page. There are benefits to having it be a landing because you can quantitatively measure interest from users’ click stream.
My main point is to NOT build a the product. That causes many problems which I describe in the article “Our Obsession with the MVP”. Read that article carefully and there should be examples there. Here is a link to that article. Others should have concrete examples and stories as well.

Hey Lucas, this article explains more in-depth some aspects of the high-level specifications and has some more examples of “brochures” (i.e. also videos, landing pages, experiments): https://www.metabeta.com/articles/fundraising/get-customer-funding-using-high-level-product-specification/
