How to read and practice Disciplined Entrepreneurship when you don't have team to practice with ?
The very first chapter of the book starts with the importance of having a team and how the odds of being successful increase with a good team rather than starting it alone. And also the book is structured for a team read or as teamwork.
As of now, I am not in the university or in a classroom setup to team up and read the book and practice it.
As the book emphasises the Entrepreneur skills can be learned by practice, I want to practice the book instead of just reading it making notes.
What do you suggest to people like me who are reading this book alone, how can they get maximum out of it?
I was told that if you finish reading something, you are likely to remember only 10%, but if you use ideas from your readings to teach and practice, you are more likely to remember and understand 90% or more. In my opinion, after you finished reading it alone, go and connect with those who read that book like yours, and share your opinion and plans. Hopefully, it will lead you to a great resources and excellent network. PSD
The best way to do it when you’re working on your own, is to actually put into practice what you”ve learnt. So, when you’ve read step 1 on market segmentation, take your business idea and choose the general market, do some research about that market, get some idea about demand etc. and do the segmentation. There is a great deal of information on the internet.
As you go through the steps, you may find that you have to go back and revise something that you didn’t understand very well. But you will make progress step by step.
In the meantime you can try to link up with other similar aspiring entrepreneurs in the numerous Facebook groups and start discussions with them.
That is what I have been doing for the last few years because I didn;t have the benefit of the books on the subject. I’ve only just discovered Bill’s books but I find that I have actually done quite a good deal of the work already.
Good luck.
